East MacDonnell Homelands Housing Upgrade Grant

Published

The NT Government is investing $989,000 to improve the safety of housing in homelands across the East MacDonnell region.

Eligible businesses are invited to apply for grant funding to deliver the East MacDonnell Homelands Housing Upgrade across three homelands in the East MacDonnell region.

The program contributes to the Healthy Living Practices, which form the basis for the National Indigenous Housing Guide.

The successful applicant will be required to work with homelands residents and Territory Families, Housing and Communities to identify and scope projects and prioritise the works to be carried out.

The key objectives and outcomes for the project include:

  • residents have access to safe and secure housing
  • residents and community members have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate and contribute to Local Decision Making within their community
  • overall safety of housing and infrastructure in the homelands is improved
  • the use of local businesses to deliver goods and services is maximised.

Funding for this grant will be allocated as a single grant to the successful applicant. A scope of works has been developed and targets specific houses.

Applications close 17 May 2021.

All applicants must register and apply through grantsnt.gov.au.

Works are expected to commence in July 2021.
