The NT Government supports the delivery of sport and active recreation services to the community through a suite of grant programs aimed at increasing the number of Territorians who participate in sport and active recreation, and in turn receive physical health, wellbeing, social and community benefits.

The Sport and Active Recreation Quick Response and Grassroots Grant Programs for 2021-22 are now open.

The Quick Response Grant Program is focused on providing assistance to:

  • organisations to meet unforeseeable equipment expenses and structural repairs
  • Territorians selected to represent Australia at recognised elite international events and non-elite events.

The Quick Response Grant Program closes on 31 May 2022.

The Grassroots Grant Program provides funding for five key categories to support the sport and active recreation sector:

  • participation
  • volunteer development
  • equipment
  • planning
  • promotion.

Round 1 for the Grassroots Grant Program closes on 27 September 2021.
