Celebrating National Families Week

Published

This National Families Week, 15 to 21 May, Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) would like to thank and celebrate the wonderful families and organisations that play a crucial role in community wellbeing.

As the department with a broad range of responsibilities including frontline services, family support, affordable housing and community initiatives, every corner of TFHC touches the lives of everyday families.

Together with our partners, TFHC delivers services to build stronger families and communities including:

  • crucial frontline services and support including through Family Support Services grants, Child and Family Centres and the FACES hotline
  • celebrating carers through the Foster and Kinship Excellence Awards
  • providing families with affordable housing and tenancy support, to ensure all families are safe, supported and have access to services that enhance their lives
  • providingsafe and creative places and events for families to connect and thrive. From grassroots sports, to libraries and arts, our community services bring people together.

National Families Week is a time to celebrate with your family, make contact with your extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community. It is a time to celebrate the meaning of family and to make the most of family life.
