The season’s first open water swimming event.

Nearly 50 swimming enthusiasts hit the water at the weekend (Saturday 18 June) for the season’s first open water swimming event.

Held at the Darwin Waterfront, swimmers from clubs including Darwin, Nightcliff, Casuarina, Masters Swimming NT and Triathlon NT braved the cooler conditions to participate.

Thomas Noblett, of Swimming NT, funded by Territory Families Housing and Communities, said it was an awesome event and it was great to see everyone get down there for the first event of the year.

He said the attendance at these events usually grows over the season, with the next open water event planned for 16 July with other pool meets in between.
