Celebrating 25 Years of the Northern Territory Youth Round Table

Published

The first meeting of the 25th year of the Northern Territory Youth Round Table kicks off this weekend.

This year marks 25 years of the Northern Territory (NT) Youth Round Table. Since its inception in 1997, more than 350 young Territorians have represented their peers in government decision-making through activities, committees and projects.

Being a member of the Round Table provides youth aged 15 to 25 with the opportunity to have their say on important topics that affect them and other young people. The Round Table meets quarterly at iconic locations in the NT such as Parliament House and are provided with the chance to discuss their ideas with Territory leaders and other notable people.

The opening meeting of the 2022 Round Table will take place this weekend and will see 18 young people from Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Palmerston and Rural come together for the first of four meetings being held this year.

If you are between the ages of 15 and 25 and interested in the Office of Youth Affairs programs and initiatives visit youth.nt.gov.au.
