2023 Men’s Places Grant recipient highlights
West Arnhem Regional Council - Red Dust Healing
In 2023, West Arnhem Regional Council received a Men’s Places Grant to support Red Dust Healing workshops in Warruwi and Minjilang. These workshops use an ancient Aboriginal perspective to support individuals explore and heal unresolved hurt, grief, loss and other issues in their lives.
The program is written from an Aboriginal perspective and incorporates visual and holistic learning that links Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures. It includes ancient traditional practices, morals and values as a way of addressing issues in today’s society.
The workshops were a great success and positive feedback was received from those who participated,
“They need more courses like this in community”
“We know this stuff we just need to put it in to practice”
“We need to cry more and let it all out, all our anger and sadness”.
