Public housing

Affordable Housing is housing for people on low to moderate incomes. Housing is managed like a private rental property however, rent is set below market rent. Affordable housing can be owned by private developers, investors, local governments, charitable organisations or community housing providers.

Public housing is where government rent properties to people on low incomes with a housing need who may be unable to access private rental. The properties rented out include houses, units or apartments.

Community housing is housing for people on low to moderate incomes. This type of housing is usually managed by not for profit organisations. These organisations may receive assistance from Government to provide housing through grants, loans, dwellings or operational funding.

Social housing is the collective term for both public housing and community housing.
