Charles See Kee Scholarship applications open

Applications for the Charles See Kee Scholarship is now open for 2023.

The Charles See Kee Scholarship provides financial support to a student who has settled in Australia as a humanitarian or refugee entrant to undertake study or enhance their employment and general life outcomes.

Information about the scholarship including eligibility criteria, selection criteria and how to apply, go to the Charles Darwin University scholarship finder.

Applications close on 10 March 2023.

Minister’s Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs

Members of the Minister’s Advisory Council on Multicultural Affairs (MACMA) met on 6 December 2022 to discuss issues impacting the lives of migrant and multicultural communities in the Northern Territory.

Highlights of the discussion included review of the multicultural peak bodies, implementation of key actions of the Northern Territory multicultural policy in 2021 to 2022, a bigger and better Darwin Waterfront Harmony Soiree planned for 2024, the development of a multicultural infrastructure plan and updates from the service providers such as Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory and Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia.

This was the last meeting of the 8 MACMA members. Their term will be completed at the end of 2022. The retiring MACMA members are: Dr Sivaram Vemuri (chair), Ms Veronica Matipira, Mr Feroz Mohamed Ibrahim, Dr Shu Qin Li, Mr Baby Abraham, Mrs Anjana Pant Baral, Ms Jamuna (Mona) Ulak and Mr Sulal Mathai.

Mental health campaign - look after yourself these holidays

PHN Northern Territory has come up with festive season messages to support their mental health campaign. The messages are also translated in 6 languages and available on the PHN Northern Territory website.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs will be closed from close of business on 23 December 2022 and re-opens on 3 January 2023.
