Round 2 of the Multicultural Grants Program 2022-23 is open now

Applications for round 2 of the Multicultural Grants Program 2022- 23 are open now for activities/events/projects in January to June 2023.

Migrant and multicultural organisations needing assistance for projects that promote social inclusion and cohesion, cultural and linguistic diversity and enhance multiculturalism in the Northern Territory are encouraged to apply.

Community Justice Centre practical mediation skills course

The Community Justice Centre (CJC) is delivering its popular practical mediation skills course in Darwin from 3 to 7 October 2022. The course is for anyone interested in understanding the causes, phases and functions of conflict, and learning how to resolve disputes in a range of dispute contexts.

Practical mediation skills is an intensive 5-day program that meets the national standards for becoming an accredited mediator. The course can also be a pathway to working with the CJC.

Limited scholarship places will be available and people from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. If you are interested or require more information, contact the CJC on 1800 000 473 or cjc@nt.gov.au.

Community use of school facilities

Northern Territory Government schools are encouraged to make school facilities available for use by community groups and organisations outside of normal school hours.

Community use of school facilities are available for various type of activities including for not-for-profit organisations.

For detailed information, view community use of school facilities on the Northern Territory Government website or contact the school that your organisation wishes to partner with.

Updates to contacts in multicultural community associations

If there have been changes to committee members in your multicultural community association, please advise the Office of Multicultural Affairs by emailing the updated contact details to tfhc.multiculturalaffairs@nt.gov.au.

It's a good idea to create an organisational generic email, rather than personal emails. This will assist with confidentiality.

For upcoming multicultural events, please check the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory (MCNT) website.

If you are organising an event in the near future and it is not included in the MCNT’s website, please write to MCNT requesting to include the event in the calendar. If your event date is different to the one available on the website please let MCNT know for correction.

October Business Month 2022 - international series

The October Business Month (OBM) international series showcases a range of international engagement and trade opportunities to support businesses in the Northern Territory.

Businesses seeking to learn more about international engagement, or opportunities for import/export trade opportunities can meet with key organisations such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade, the International Business Council, the Australian Indonesian Business Council and the Consulate General for Timor-Leste, just to name a few.
