Workforce Support Program

Workforce support programs aim to enhance organisations capability to develop and implement better administration systems and processes that improve their development, recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers, and provide complementary volunteer skill development opportunities.

This is to be achieved through increasing peak sporting bodies, regional councils and other stakeholders’ access to online resources and opportunities for their volunteers to join Department facilitated face-to-face learning and development forums across selected sport related topics.

Organisations who focus on developing better support processes and systems for their volunteer coaches, officials and other key support roles will improve their development, recruitment, retention and recognition of their ad hoc, committed and leadership volunteer helpers.

While we provide generic online resources and development sessions across sport volunteer roles and sport development resources, all stakeholder organisations remain responsible for their specific learning and development programs, content and services across the Territory.

Workforce support program initiatives will target three key volunteer helper roles and categories encouraging better practice.

Sport, Recreation and Strategic Infrastructure in partnership with the peak sporting bodies aims to assist organisations with the development, recruitment, retention and recognition strategies of coaches within sport.
