|Weekly Average||It is the sum of the number of days each youth spent in custody during the week divided by 7 days in that week.|

|Sentenced||The number of youths hold in Darwin Don Dale Dentention Centre and Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre|
|Aboriginal||A young person of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island descent who identifies and is identified as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.|
|Darwin||Refers to Don Dale Youth Detention Centre|
|Alice Springs||Refers to Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre|
