2020 NT Youth Round Table biography - Amy Guymer

"Young people in the NT are definitely misrepresented, both in general, through stereotypes and definitely more so in the media.... and I'd really like to see young people of the NT to be displayed for the young amazing individuals that they are".

Amy is a logical and analytically-minded young person from Palmerston. Amy describes herself as a “Grade A Nerd”, who follows through with her commitments and enjoys school.

Amy is in Year 12 and is aiming to study Marine Biology with JCU when she finishes high school.

Amy’s vision for young Territorians is for teens, to have fun, to leave school and be happy. To go home and be happy, not go home and be angry at others. Allow teenagers to learn and to make mistakes. We are still kids, still get our education abut still enjoy our life. To focus on harm minimisation on issues that impact young people, especially when related to alcohol.
