2020 NT Youth Round Table biography - Jaimie Bryant

"My name is Isabel Blundell I'm from Nhulunbuy in Arnhem Land. I am super passionate about the youth in my community and the in the wider Northern Territory region. I am really looking forward to this year and the relationships that I'm going to build and can't wait to represent you".

Jaimie is a young woman, currently in Year 12 at Katherine High School and has been elected as this year’s School Captain alongside Silvana. Jaimie is fiercely passionate about sports and building others understanding of the challenges that small communities face.

Jaimie is interested in becoming a physiotherapist so she can help people understand their bodies and achieve optimum outcomes with their sports. She hopes to break the ‘cycle of Katherine’ where people have no drive or ambition to do well in schools then get stuck. They stay in the community but don’t strive for better. Jaimie is heavily involved in her community through playing sports, umpiring, coaching and working at the Katherine South After School Care.

Jaimie’s hopes for young people of Katherine is to increase the sporting opportunities to reduce the boredom and help people feel connected.
