2021 NT Youth Round Table biography - Jemima Fernandes

Jemima Fernandes

Jemima is a hardworking and considerate young woman living in Darwin. Born in India, she moved to the Territory age 10 with her family and has loved every moment of it. As a second-year law student at CDU, there's no surprise that her passion for advocacy begins right here in Darwin, for its young Territorians.

Jemima understands the struggles young Territorians from migrant backgrounds can face, including racism, sexism and struggling mental health, and is committed to advocating for all to be seen as equal and receive a fair go.

Outside work and uni, Jemima is also a singer and avid musician. She also volunteers for Vinnies, is a CDU Student Ambassador, and an active member of the CDU Law Students' Society and the City of Darwin Youth Advisory Committee.
