2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Alexander Storey

Alexander (Alex) was born and raised in Darwin and is passionate about youth justice and mental health. He completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Criminology and is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws (Graduate) at Charles Darwin University (CDU). Alex works as a personal assistant at Ward Keller.

Alex volunteers with CDU and the Australian Red Cross where he gets to work at the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre and apply his passion to support children in detention. Alex enjoys community gardening, identifying trees and plants, and researching lessons in homesteading and sustainable methods of living. Other hobbies also include going to the gym, fishing and playing board games.

Alex says:

"Having been born and growing up in Darwin, I'm acutely aware of the challenges that our Territory and youth face. My broad knowledge and interest in youth social justice have left me wanting to contribute to positive change within my community and I believe that my knowledge of the contemporaneous issues of young Territorians can be used to help educate the broader community, as well as people involved in the decision making process."
