2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Azra Zendelji

Azra was born and raised in Tennant Creek. Coming from a diverse background of Albanian descent, she has built a passion for travelling and exploring other cultures. Prior to the COVID-19 situation, Azra spent her time travelling overseas and exposing herself to other cultures and experiencing new foods.

Azra works for the Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation as the Corporate Services Officer where she provides secretariat support to the Corporate Services Manager.  She has previously been involved in the Barkly Youth Round Table and the Stronger Sisters through the Tennant Creek High School. Azra has witnessed, engaged and facilitated essential supports to assist others of various cultural backgrounds, languages, physical and intellectual capabilities.

Azra says:

"Having worked in rural and remote communities with limited community access and service delivery, I am well versed in advocating for a range of people and overcoming both limited resources and geographical barriers. My main objective in becoming a member of the Youth Round Table is to help our youth and to make a difference for them. Through the Youth Round Table, I believe the serious and social disadvantages and disempowerment we are faced with CAN be heard if we all come together as one for our youth."
