2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Cecilia Afeaki

Cecilia is a seventeen-year-old senior student attending Nhulunbuy High School. She is a Polynesian from a Tongan/German background and the eldest girl in a family of eight. Cecilia works as Assistant Junior Pharmacist and volunteers for the St. Bernadette’s Church Youth Group and the Liverpool All Saints Tongan preparing food for disadvantaged people.

Throughout her life, Cecilia has attended 11 schools and lived all over New South Wales before moving to the NT earlier this year. Interests of her include reading, socialising, poetry, netball, volunteering, piano, anthropology, public speaking, singing, TED talks, writing and baking.

Cecilia says:

"The NT Youth Round Table clearly demonstrates the capability and potential the youth have to make a change and undoubtedly is a movement I wish to devote my own experiences, strengths and ideas towards. I will be honoured to contribute from discussions of feedback and personal stories to generating critical and creative ideas, to expand the voices of our youth amongst the members."
