2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Connie-Anne Shaw

Connie-Anne (Connie) was born and raised in Alice Springs. She is passionate about working with young people, advocating against domestic violence and raising the voices of Aboriginal communities through her roles with the Tangentyere Council Women’s Family Safety Group and the Brown Street Youth Centre.

Connie loves working with and supporting young people and children. Her time working as a youth worker has been an experience that has taught her a two-way learning, understanding how young people feel, the issues that exist in the communities and learning how to best support them. Connie likes spending time with her family, going out bush, doing arts and crafts, going to the cinema, sharing stories and cooking.

Connie says:

"I believe the NT Youth Round Table will provide the opportunity to have our voices heard about the issues faced throughout our community, discuss strategies and solutions to engaging with and supporting the young kids in our communities. Alice Springs is a very multicultural community and the opportunity to share our stories, experiences, skills and knowledge can create a strong network to voice the issues and solutions for our young kids."
