2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Isla Hooper

Isla completed Year 12 last year at the Centralian Senior College where they are highly regarded for their initiatives and interest in arts, music and photography.

Isla is passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues and has discovered a passion for community arts through their work with the Desert Festival where Isla organised a week-long art exhibition and workshop called the Love a Local Portraiture Challenge for their Creative Arts Media project. Isla works at Central Craft and spends their free time taking photos, playing the piano, shopping, and exploring different crafts. When Isla was 16, they went on a 10-month exchange to Japan.

Isla says:

"Working with the NT Youth Round Table would provide me with the opportunity to make new connections with influential people and further develop my organisational and leadership skills while allowing me to speak up about different issues in the community I would like addressed."
