2022 NT Youth Round Table biography - Paddy van der Geest-Hester

Paddy is currently completing Year 10 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College in Alice Springs where he has been an active member of the Student Representative Council, Game Changers and a middle school Campus Captain.

Paddy loves to participate in sport, especially swimming and dancing, as well as school sports carnivals. Passionate about the environment, Paddy is also involved in the Youth Climate Forum. In his spare time, Paddy enjoys playing the piano, reading, gardening and growing vegetables in a wicking bed created at a Planeteers workshop.

Paddy says:

"I feel really excited about being a member of the NT Youth Round Table and the chance to engage with other like-minded young people. I am especially keen to collaborate with others as a team to discuss issues and come up with solutions that could make a real difference to our community. I would really like to meet with government ministers to try to make positive changes to help kids in Alice Springs. I would also like to learn more about how our government operates and the process of democratic decision making."
