Access to information
The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) aims to deliver cohesive and community-focussed services and activities to improve the lives of all Territorians.
The Information Access Unit makes sure all information collected, held and produced by the agency is protected.
Information can be accessible where appropriate and recorded in line with:
- records management practices
- privacy considerations.
TFHC treats all information with the highest ethical standards and integrity and keeps a record of business practices.
You can request access to your personal information or government information by submitting an application to the department.
You will receive notice within 30 days of the department's decision to release the information.
How to request access
To request access to information follow these steps:

Step 2: complete the form and submit to TFHC along with relevant fees and proof of identity
You can also submit an application to waive or reduce fees, if you can give financial or other reasons for the waiver or reduction.
